Do you feel like you’re living in the Valley of Trouble?

First of all, you’re not alone. I’ve been there. In fact, a large portion of my life felt like the Valley of Trouble as I was plagued with health problems, bipolar disorder, lack of finances, and more. So I know how you feel and I’m sorry you are experiencing the Valley of Trouble. But there’s good news!

God will transform your Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope.

Wait a minute. I know what you’re thinking. No one wants to hear toxic positivity when they are suffering. Toxic positivity is that “look on the bright side” advice that invalidates your actual unpleasant experience. Christians are awful about this, throwing around verses like “all things work together for good” (Romans 8:28) or God has good plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11), to name a couple of Bible grenades lobbed at people already hurting.

You won’t find dismissive words here. God meets you where you are. He’s so proud of you. There is no condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1). Whatever transpired to create your Valley of Trouble, whether it was trouble of your own making, brought on by someone else, or a rough patch of circumstances, God is ready to transform your Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope.

Are you ready for a fresh dose of hope?

Hope comes from God. Ephesians 2:12 says, “In those days you were living apart from Christ. . . . You lived in this world without God and without hope.” If you’re a Christian who feels short on hope, I’m not saying you’ve left God or he’s left you. But when you picture your future without God in it, you’ll feel hopeless. If you’re imagining the worst-case scenario, I can guarantee you didn’t factor Jesus into it. When you add God into your thinking about the future, you’ll rediscover hope. Imagine what God can do with your difficult situations. Image how God can transform your Valley of Trouble. Imagine your mighty God going before you into the future. I see that spark of hope. Don’t you?

This site is under development, but you’ll soon see resources to help you move from the Valley of Trouble to God’s gateway of hope.

"I [the Lord] will . . .

transform the Valley of Trouble

into a gateway of hope."
Hosea 2:15
